My painting practice draws inspiration from tribal patterns, masks, and Persian rug designs. The bold geometric shapes and earthy tones give me a strong foundation to work from. I mix elements from these different sources, reshaping them into my own motifs to create something unexpected and new. I am exploring imperfection through disrupting patterns and distorting forms, challenging ideas of correctness and perfection. I like to work on a large scale, blending figurative symbols with an abstract drawing style. Layering mixed media paints and pastels helps me build depth and space.
