Soo-Ling Lyle Tassell was born in the UK, and moving to New Zealand 12+ years ago has been very inspirational. With a love for nature and birds; living in Muriwai has profoundly influenced in her art. "I find joy in telling stories through my artwork. I love Muriwai; and the warmth of its close knit and caring community".

Previous works have depicted  Motutara Island, just off the coast where the gannets nest every year and raise their young. This is portrayed as woman. Whose nurture and dependability is solid as rock.

Soo-Ling  works full time as a Computer Games 3D Character Artist; and creates art in her spare time. Mediums for her art include drawing, painting, print makig (lino and dry point) and 3D printed sculpture.
