Joss Hong was born and raised in New Zealand to Chinese parents and has called Muriwai home for nearly 30 years. Her Asian heritage, combined with the rugged beauty of Muriwai, provides a rich and grounding influence on her jewellery designs.

Joss draws further inspiration from her years living abroad and from her time studying at art school in Barcelona, where she honed her passion for crafting contemporary jewellery.

Her work is a direct reflection of her unique background, personality, and perspective. Blending tradition with innovation, her designs often incorporate cherished symbols and values, reimagined as distinctive pieces of wearable art.

Joss especially enjoys working with handcrafted resin, silver, bone and pounamu: materials that allow her to create jewellery that feels both timeless and refreshingly modern—a celebration of life, culture, and creativity.
