Allan Williams has been sculpting and painting since 1986, when he helped set up the first NZ sculpture symposium at Western Springs Auckland. He has since been an inaugural participant in most of NZs symposiums, including, Wellington, New Plymouth, Oamaru, Matamata, Mt Summers, Thames etc.

He also has been in symposiums in Japan, UK, Austria, USA, and worked in France on a commemorative piece for the French Résistance. He has work in many private, business and council collections, and worked as a sculptor on King Kong and Lord of the Rings. He has indulged in organic agriculture, music (drums), motorcycle racing (post classic F1 champion), commercial interior and exterior fitouts.
