I am an amateur bookbinder, working mostly in traditional styles, but am also interested in exploring non-adhesive and less formal ideas.
I studied traditional binding with Bill Downie, director of the bookbinding division of the National School of Printing in Auckland. Since then I have attended numerous workshops and courses with both local and overseas binders and book artists, have exhibited my books in New Zealand and England. I have assisted with the organisation of several exhibitions of books and binding competitions as a member of the Association of Book Crafts (NZ), and am also a member of The Society of Bookbinder in UK.
