My family has owned land in Muriwai since 1947. So Muriwai, its lifestyle and coastal landscape have had a large influence on my work. I have worked with concrete based products most of my life. I mix all my own materials and then carve the sculptures out of blocks of various combinations. Varying types of cement and aggregates achieves different textures and colours. My inspiration comes mostly from nature.
