After being a mother and working as a computer programmer for many years, I took up painting as a hobby, and have become fascinated with the different methods of applying paint to canvas. There are so many areas of painting to explore, and so huge an amount of work by great artists to try and understand, it is an endless playground full of new sights and excitements. Currently, I am working on the perception of movement in a painting. Horses, with which I have been involved for many years, provide an ideal subject for movement. Their beauty, while in motion or while at rest, gives me an opportunity to paint with a sound basis of mechanical knowledge and some emotional understanding.
